This unit covered Pronunciation and Phonology. The main focuses of this unit were on stress, rhythm, intonation, as well as introducing the International Phonetic Alphabet. This unit was one of those that really deals with a lot of aspects of English speech that are taken for granted as a native speaker. Being able to properly identify the challenges that children face while learning English requires an in-depth knowledge of the difficulties and counter-intuitive factors inherent in the language. This unit did a very good job of pointing those out fro a phonology perspective and I learned a lot.
