In this unit we studied modal verbs (such as may, can, might, could, etc.), phrasal verbs, relative clauses, and the passive voice. We also looked at some teaching ideas for the same and some of the most common mistakes made by students learning English as a foreign language. The explanation of the different types of phrasal verbs (intransitive, transitive separable, and transitive inseparable) was particularly helpful. I'm not sure that I had a clear understanding of the three types of phrasal verbs before studying this unit. I will now be able to move beyond teaching phrasal verbs simply as vocabulary items.
