In this unit I have learned about the Engage Study Activate method and the advantages of using this technique. I also found it very interesting to learn about the many different teaching methodologies that have been implemented over the past centuries, especially Suggestopaedia and The Silent Way, methods I never knew existed. One thing I like about the ESA method is the freedom the teacher has to adapt the structure of a lesson, as long as it follows the basic structure of beginning with an engaging phase and ending with an activate phase. I believe a lesson structured with ESA will always make for an interesting class because the teacher is able to constantly vary the activities and the pace of the class. I especially found the games and activities mentioned in this unit exciting, and look forward to coming up with new games to engage my students.
