Like the previous unit on receptive skills, this short chapter on productive skills contains a lot of important information for language teachers. Students must be able to listen and read in order to acquire language, but they must be able to write and speak in order to communicate what they have learned. This chapter also explained the different between teaching accuracy- using language correctly, and fluency- being creative in the use of newly acquired language.
