This unit concentrated on the different ways in which to introduce new vocabulary, grammatical structures, and language functions in lessons. I found it very helpful reading about the most effective methods of teaching each aspect, and the ways that different lesson structures might better align with certain aspects. For instance, a straight arrow ESA lesson is best for introducing new vocabulary, while a patchwork or boomerang lesson is better for grammar and functions. This unit helped me think about how I will structure different types of lessons and has given me new ideas for fun and exciting activities.
