This unit presents different techniques for teaching new language in the class. There are 3 main divisions – vocabulary, functions and grammar. The teaching vocabulary part describes techniques for vocabulary teaching, how to select appropriate vocabulary, what students should know about vocabulary and there is a straight arrow vocabulary lesson example. The teaching language functions part consists of different areas such as inviting, suggesting etc, moreover, there is a description of typical boomerang type lesson, however patchwork approach also could be used. The grammar part of the unit describes different techniques for practice and presentation of the language structures, what students should know about learned grammatical structures and there is an example of patchwork grammar lesson. All the materials are very helpful for low-experienced teachers as I am.
