This unit concentrated on the different types of course books and materials that you can use in your lessons. I think it is very important to use a combination of course books, authentic materials, and created materials, because it adds variety to the classes and the classes are not so predictable. I believe that course books are usually good to form a base for the subject matter that is being covered, while authentic and created materials offer a fun and interesting supplement to the course book material. With created materials there are so many possibilities, giving the teacher freedom to adapt to their individual students and create fun and exciting activities. Authentic materials offer a great challenge to intermediate and advanced learners, helping them experience how English is used by native speakers and in a day to day setting. I plan to supplement my lessons with a variety of authentic and created materials to keep it interesting for everyone.
