This unit talked about the difference between types of course materials that can be used to teach English during an ESL lesson; That is, namely, the difference between authentic and course materials. Authentic materials are those real materials which can be happened upon in real life and thus represent the authentic representation of language as it is really used; whereas the course materials are prepared by publishers in order to provide a standardized and scheduled form of study. Both are valid ways to teach English, which I found interesting.
