This unit focused on course books and lesson materials that teacher should and should not use in the classroom. Some of the disadvantages for using course book lessons all the time in the classroom is that some of the lessons are generic and boring. Using a lesson plan in the course book but tailored to suite the interest of the class is a way that a teacher can stick to the syllabus but also use their creativity. This type of creativity can change the whole dynamic of the class and have student engage in the activity. An advantage to using the course book lesson plans is that they are tried and tested, so the teacher knows that the activities will work and the students will hopefully learn the material.
