In this unit I learned that teachers tend to overlook pronunciation because it can be intimidating to both the teacher and the student. I learned that phonology is the study, science, analysis, and classification of physical properties of sounds, intonation is the variation in volume and pitch in a whole sentence, and stress is variation in volume and pitch in a word. I also learned what different kinds of pronunciation mean in correlation to how they are formed in the mouth. I had never known how to use the phonemic alphabet, but now I can (slowly).
