In this Unit I have learnt some ideas about how to deal with different challenges that could arise in the class - for example, when teaching new groups of students as well as existing groups. There were very many useful activities that I have learnt that I could use for establishing rapport with the students. Energiser or warmer such as Hangman, Dictionary and Memory games are simple yet practical activities that I can use in my own with any groups of students. One of the challenges is certainly teaching students who are at varying levels. I found it useful to learn the importance of using different materials, or using same materials but setting different tasks, especially where the difference in student ability is wide. Similarly, I have found the different techniques to address the issue of large classes, use of native language, and reluctant students all very relevant.
