Unit twelve involves learning about how to teach the two productive skills which are speaking and writing. Speaking focuses on two parts, accuracy and fluency. Accuracy is producing correct language, and the activities are usually controlled to ensure accurate reproduction of language. Fluency concentrates on allowing the students to experiment and be creative with language. It is less concerned with the effectiveness and flow of the communication. In order to improve writing skills, the students must learn proper handwriting, spelling, layout and punctuation, and creative writing.
