This unit was about the phonology of the English language. It covered the sounds of the language at a basic level, including where stress, intonation, and articulation lie within the spoken language. I learned a lot in this unit, like where the pitch and volume rise in a sentence affects the context of what is being said. Also how words can join together. And just a general sense of of what people hear when they listen to the physical sound of a language, which is something taken for granted by native speakers. The end of the unit concerned linguistics and how speech organs create the sounds that they do.
