Many students are very good at writing but so weak in speaking. Encouragements are constantly given but still see no difference. I admit this is one of my struggles that I need to force a student to talk and not voluntarily submit themselves to speak. Is there any techniques about how to boost their confidence? If I ask them just to read a sentence, I received no response at all. They’ll just smile and pretending (maybe) to read something on their handouts.
