The unit's focus was on teachers and learners; what defines a teacher/learner as good. It presented and briefly explained what are the different roles a teacher can play during a class and emphasized that these roles change within a single class depending on the circumstances.
A definition of an adult and young learner was given, together with a further subdivision of young learners into 3 groups. The unit summarized the main differences to be expected from an adult and a young learner in class. Two different systems for evaluating English Language Proficiency were presented and finally, some of the main reasons for studying English.
The unit was helpful to me, as it clarified, structured and completed the fragmented understanding of "teacher/learner" concept I have developed in my short teaching practice.
