In this unit we got aquainted with the teaching receptive skills , as there are 4 fundamental skills in any language . Reading and listening , which are introduced as receptive skills , and speaking and writing , which are as productive skills. It is vital to remember that all are inportant equally, they all are connected with each other and as teachers we should try to use all skills during our lessons keeping the balance between them .We have also known that reasons for reading and listening can be different too. They can be for some purpose - eg. when you want to get some important information for you eg. the direction of your way when you listen to someone’s instructions . It can also be for entertainmen - when you listen to your favourite music, or listen to your friend’s jokes . It can be for general information , when you dont read or listen to something in detail or for predictive purpose, when you read only the headline and try to predict what about it is .
