This thorough explanation of the ESA structure was very impressive. My lessons follow a similar structure, but I had never really considered Boomerang or Patchwork style lessons. Given the descriptions of other techniques, I am naturally inclined towards Communicative Language Teaching. However, learning about somewhat surprising systems like The Silent Way and Suggestopedia wax very enlightening.
I found the section on correcting mistakes very helpful. I try to be very positive with students and having more information about the best times and methods to correct is helpful. My students are very shy, so correction can be a delicate thing especially when they are speaking.
Finally, I've long considered the idea of using codes for correction. I'm worried self correction may be too difficult for my students, but perhaps I'll try it with my next group of students.
