This unit was about teaching productive skills. I learnt the difference between accuracy and fluency activities and that the accuracy activities are more controlled whereas the fluency activities are more flexible and creative. Therefore, when planning lessons regarding productive skills a teacher needs to be able to differentiate between the two and ensure that there is a balance. Furthermore, I learnt how to effectively plan a lesson when teaching productive skills and ways to encourage students to speak during class as well as reasons as to why they would not want to speak up in class and consequently that a teacher needs to be understanding. In addition, I learnt many games that would be good for learning English in a fun way for the students that would keep them interested and motivated.
