Teachers need to keep in mind the language level of their students, which range from Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, Upper- Intermediate, and advanced, and plan lesson accordingly. The Common European classifies these levels as Breakthrough, Wastage, Threshold, Vantage, Effective Operational Proficiency, and Mastery. Each level of teaching has its challenges and good attributes, and students have a variety of motivations in studying English.
