The teacher handled the two lessons were very differently, and it made a huge impact on how receptive and understanding the students were to the content. In the first lesson, the teacher did not give enough instructions, which led to confusion amongst his students. They were hesitant to respond to his queries, and even when asked for more of an explanation he offered no assistance. He handed out worksheets without explaining what they were, and didn't rephrase any of his more difficult questions despite the students obviously not knowing what he meant. He even began reading while they were working on the sheet, meaning he was not monitoring and I believe this make his students think he doesn't care.
In the second lesson the teacher used simpler language, spoke more slowly, and reiterated/re-explained his questions. He gave an example question from the worksheet before passing it around, and had the students work in groups. He walked around while they were working and monitored their performance. He made sure that his students understood before moving on to the next part of the lesson.
