When you know a language as your native language, you don't necessarily know the actual names for each tense, and their usage. I have had many people ask me the difference between, for example, "I have worked" and "I have been working", without entirely knowing how to answer correctly. Now, I understand that it is the difference between two tenses, present perfect and present perfect continuous, where the tense present perfect is used for when we speak of an action that happened during an indefinite time, or something that happened in the past that is still unfinished, or a past action that has a present outcome versus the present perfect continuous tense that is used to describe an ongoing and incomplete action or to describe a recently finished action that has present results.
