When I learned about future tense the "going to future" is not a separate tense in itself, and there is no distinction between the use of "I will" and "I am going to". The lesson materials gave further clarifications in those areas, but I wonder if those are commonly accepted. It would be great if authoritative resources can be given for references, such as a well-accepted grammar book/dictionary.
