The first unite in the course covers the basic in's and out's of teaching English. This is done through two sections including Teachers and Students. The first section, Teachers, informs the reader about the traits of a good teacher as well a the rolls a a teacher may play in the classroom. The second section, students, discusses student traits, types, motivations, and finally the levels of language learning.
I found this first unit to be relatively informative, particularly in regards to the roles of a teacher and the types of learners. It is always important to be reminded of the various roles a teacher must play in the classroom in order to teach effectively and thoughtfully. Furthermore, learning about the types of students whether they be young learners or adults helps the educator to isolate various teaching techniques to better facilitate a positive learning experience.
