The grammar units in this course have been so helpful in solidifying my understanding of English grammar structures. As a native speaker, so I often I take my knowledge for granted. Learning about modal auxiliary verbs, such as can, may, should, would, etc. and how they are conjugated in different tenses is a skill most English speakers do not think too much about. Passive voice is when the emphasis of the sentence is on the object rather than the action agent. Relative clauses, also known as adjective clauses, are used to modify nouns in a sentence and can be defining (essential to sentence meaning) or not. Multi-word verbs, or perusal verbs, come in 3 kinds: intransitive that cannot be followed by a direct object, transitive separable, and transitive inseparable.
