Unit 11 Teaching Receptive Skills explained reading and listening. There are four basic skills in any language receptive skills ( speaking and writing ) and productive skills ( speaking and writing ). All are equally important. There are some reasons for reading and listening : for a purpose and for entertainment. This unit talked also about the context of reading and listening depend on : predictive skill, specific information - scanning, general idea-skimming, detailed information, and deduction from context. And also it's included how to solve problems with listening and reading. Overall from this unit explained detailed about receptive skills and easy to understand for me. And for me there's additional point from this unit because the example outline of a typical receptive skills lesson which can be my view for the next teaching idea.
