It was very helpful to see ideas for how to develop a lesson for teaching vocabulary, grammatical structures and language functions, reviewing techniques within the ESA lesson framework, as well as lesson designs for the ESA lesson framework (straight arrow, boomerang, patchwork). It was also helpful to have key elements to keep in mind while planning for each of these parts of the lesson; vocabulary - what do students need to know, what may make learning new vocabulary challenging, how to select vocabulary words for the lesson, etc. Again in the tasks portion, it was very useful to write out a sample lesson plan using the different ESA structures and thinking specifically about which content was being taught, and to which level of learner.
