This unit gave me a very difficult time in understanding the phonemic symbols. It was difficult to sound out the word to form a proper word to understand the entire sentence. Some of the answers were confusing as well. Unit 13 will need a lot of practice to getting familiar with these concepts, as to be able to teach this to the students without so much difficulty. The Place of Articulation and the Manner of Articulation was helpful in practicing the tongue motions as you read along. Each concept was detailed with the beginning position that the tongue, lips or teeth would be in and where they would end up at the end of the sound.
