This unit explored the basics of pronunciation and phonology. It described and explored the definition of phonology as well as its areas such as stress, (in a syllable) rhythm and intonation. The use of the phonetic alphabet was examined in order to come up with an understanding of the english pronunciation to help students. I learned the articulation areas and become aware of its sound differences as well as which one is which. I also learned the phonetic alphabet, recognized its consonants and vowels as well as its meanings from a text. I learned several teaching techniques for pronunciations(how to do mouth movements), to be able to use in class. I found how important is to learn a well pronunciation, having a proper sound can have a big impact in communication with other people, so I find it very essential to focus deeply in this area and find useful techniques to use and teach in class.
