This unit has given me insight into the importance of lesson planning. It is the best way to prepare for class ahead of time and work out anticipated problems for the teacher and students. It is necessary for a teacher to keep on target and have a plan to reference while also allowing the class to progress organically. Functions of the lesson plan include learner objectives, personal aims, teaching aids, phasing, timing, and so on. I believe, as a new teacher, I will keep a structured plan until I feel confident in my ability to assess a particular class's needs and have built rapport with the students.
