This unit is a brief overview of the the basic parts of speech in English. Based on my personal experience, while it is less important for the students to know the names of the parts of speech, I think it is very important for teachers to be able to understand and quickly discern the parts of speech. That's because it's important for students to gain an intuitive understanding of each part of speech's function through correct and guided usage facilitated by the teacher.
