This unit discussed how to teach a new language which included testing vocabulary, introducing grammatical structures, and teaching language functions. It then incorporated these concepts into the strategies used in unit three regarding the ESA structure. I thought it was very interesting to learn the importance of what should be teach. An example is that origin of a word is not as important as usage or pronunciation. I was usually taught the origin to better understand the word; however, the same words may mean different things in different cultures and could potentially cause a further language barrier.
