In this unit we learnt about the theories, methods and techniques of teaching English as a foreign language. The different theories of teaching English was discussed and the method presently employed in teaching (ESA). We also learnt how ESA could be moved around and need not occur in the same order (eg. Boomerang, Patchwork). Various ideas/activities were discussed on how to occupy students during the different stages of Engage, Study and Activate. Correction techniques and what the teacher should correct was also discussed.
