This unit introduces the equipment most often available to English-language teachers, and the best means for fully utilizing them. The board is by the far the most common item available, but DVD players, visual aids, worksheets, and interactive whiteboards are also commonly used. Teachers should take the lesson, classroom, and students into consideration when deciding what equipment best suits any particular lesson. In certain situations, it may be more advantageous to use some equipment over others. This unit gives a clear guide to the equipment most often at a teacher's disposal, their advantages and disadvantages, and how best to prepare them. Unit 17 will allow me to take full advantage of the equipment available to me as an English-language teacher.
