This unit was about teaching receptive skills: reading and listening. Different strategies should be incorporated when teaching these skills such as pre- teaching vocabulary, careful selection of texts, and creating interests. I like that this unit focuses on teaching around the students rather than the teacher;s agenda. Their different interests, for example, should be taken into account to better help them engage in the lesson rather than what the teacher thinks is best next. Although a teacher may think differently, it may not be as "fun" for the students to want to learn.
