The Unit 20 is the final section to complete ITTT course, so in this Unit, it basically illustrates the common problem situation may occur in the teaching field and how a teacher should deal with them.
In the first paragraph, I have learnt how to address the first lesson, not only to new group of students but also to existing group of students. And since it is a first lesson, teacher should prepare activities or warmers to break the ice with students and most importantly to establish rapport with them. Instead of jumping to grammar or other study activities. Hence, this is the most important aim that should be achieved in the first lesson.
And I also learnt that one of the biggest challenge that teachers face with group of students which are at varying levels. So there are a few techniques can be used to tackle with this issue, such as using different materials, same material with different task, teachers don't involve, pair stronger students with weaker students.
Further to above, I understood how to address large classes, as well as its advantages and disadvantages. Hence, I gained a few very useful tips on to address large classes successfully.
Additionally, the topic on use of native language and its problematic side in monolingual class is elaborated by explaining the tips on dealing with it and as well as to help the reluctant students, students that having difficulty in listening texts in order for them keep track with the rest of the students.
