Unit 3 introduced an array of teaching methods and their effectiveness with certain levels. One of the main focuses among these was the involvement of the teacher with the lesson. As a teacher it is important to retain control of the classroom while knowing when to step back and allow students to engage with the language on their own or amongst themselves. Knowing when to correct students is crucial to their understanding of the language as well. Correcting during the introduction of a topic is going to hinder a student from learning the information and might affect their confidence with speaking up. Encouraging students to correct themselves is the better method, and if teacher correction is necessary, using positive language is important.
