This unit covered a lot of different methods, techniques and roles of teacher in teaching. For example, Grammar-translation method requires teacher need to be proficient in the students' native language and the down side of this method is the students will have the difficulties when they first learn new language and translate it in their native language. And the most effective technique that I believe that when teaching the students with zero or little of English is the Silent way technique. For roles of teacher, teacher needs to encourage new learners by saying nice words to the students and teacher needs to use different methods in teaching to make the classroom more fun and interesting. And I agree that ESA is the most effective method, however, it requires a lot of time and efforts from both teacher and students. In the classroom, teacher needs to know his/her roles, for example, teacher needs to speak to the students in English and try not to correct the student every single time in the front the class.
