Unit 15 looks at different ways of evaluating student's levels and progress,as well as some of the common external exams that are well known to the world and can be beneficial for students to take you for their bright future.
In the first part of the Unit, it gas illustrated three ways to assess a student's language level: they are tutorials, evaluation by the students and Tests. Each way has its pros and cons, it really depends of how the teacher may make the best use of them in different occasions to meet the best interest of students.
And under the title of tests, the Unit has elaborated many types of tests and their usages. The elaborated tests are: placement test, progress tests, diagnostic tests, practice tests,general external examinations, Cambridge assessment and Trinity College London.
Hence, from this Unit I understand the importance of evaluating the student's English by teachers and how to use the appropriate way to evaluate them by using the appropriate and suitable types of testing and evaluation tools.
