Creating lesson plans should include certain factors in order for the teacher to be prepared for the class and to anticipate a variety of outcomes with the students ability to grasp the lesson material. Anticipating the problems students might face as well as the problems the teacher might face are important to include, and being flexible with the lesson will allow for the skills of the students to lead the lesson. If one activity is really engaging for students, then the teacher should be able to accommodate alterations to the lesson plan and push other activities for another day. Structuring a lesson plan with the guidelines offered in Unit 9 will allow for teachers to create a record of their teaching. This is especially important for new teachers with little experience to be able to reflect upon their progress and make note of how effective their lessons are with the students.
