It’s important to remember that teaching English requires a great deal of flexibility and adaptability. When teaching beginners or any level (which includes young beginners to adult beginners), the teacher must have clear and realistic aims and be aware of the student’s needs. The teacher also must be as visual as possible and to not use the student’s mother tongue even if the teacher knows some of the language. For those who are in a business English class, a needs analysis is recommended for teachers to place their students in the necessary courses and give them the skills required for their place of work. Teachers should also do their own research before joining a school or English teaching company and remember that our expertise is not necessarily in their field, but in the English language.
