This unit focuses on modal auxiliary verbs and the two voices used in English which is the active and passive voice. I learned the basic ideas to which modal can be expressed which includes: obligation, possibility/probability, permission/prohibition, ability, and advice. Also through detailed sentence examples, I can ascertain wh?ch of the modal categories they fall into. I also learned that in a passive voice, the object of an active voice becomes the subject of the passive voice. This is because the focus is on the 'doer of action in the active whereas, in the passive voice, the focus is on the 'subject' and not the 'doer', although the sentence means the same.
