In this Unit, I learned about conditional sentences, that contain words like 'if' or 'when' , when referring to what could or will happen in the present, past and future. There are five main conditionals. These are Zero, First, Second, Third, and Mixed conditionals. We use conditionals a lot in our everyday day language. An example of a First Conditional sentence would be, "If I finish my TEFL course this week, I will start applying for teaching jobs as soon as possible." There are many teaching activities for teachers to use when teaching conditionals, but one of my favorite ideas is the 'Question' method. I would ask the students a question like, "If you were a World Leader etc., what would be the first thing that you would do to help the world?". This would help the students learn how to answer in conditional form, using words like, 'if' or 'would'.
