In this unit,I have learned some different kinds of EFL teaching methodologies such as grammar-translation, audio-lingualism, PPP,TBL, CLT, CLL... Also I got to know three important components in teaching teaching: engage,study and activate as well as some activites for these three different teaching stage. Finally, I got some knowledge about how to give feedback and how to correct the students, which are rather important and impressive to me.
I totaly agree with one point in this unit: the aim of giving feedback is to encourage self-awareness and improvement and it is important to note that prasing the students is equally as important as correcting if not more than. Here are reasons why I agree with this point: firstly, for most students their L1 is not English, so establishing confidence is extremly important for them. Secondly, teachers should try to improve the students talking time during a lesson and encourage students to talk. That's all for my opinions !
