This unit ran through content relating to the teaching of basic pronunciation of English sounds and by extension words, as well as factors of intonation and stress required to make language sound natural. It also covered basic ways to communicate these to students. In addition it also covered the use of the phonetic alphabet with relation to English pronunciation, and how to read or apply it.
Within this unit i found the sections on the importance of intonation and stress, and the impact they can have on perceived meaning of a spoken sentence to be very interesting, as this is something we rarely think about as native speakers. In addition, I imagine I will apply the recommended teaching practices for these soon, as teaching this content is somewhere i have struggled before.
