In the English language there are many ways to say the same thing but have a different meaning or even a different time. In grammar it is very vital to know how to state the correct tenses. Or even use the correct conditionals of the tenses. With five different ways to make the same sentence its awful hard to keep it straight in ones head. If I had teach this, I think I would use a lot of role playing activities and work sheets to help get the point across hopefully helping my students understand this part of the English language.
