Motivation, difference of knowledge levels, class size, comprehension are only some of the problems that teachers might face. To avoid them teachers should follow the next recommendations. On the very first lessons teachers have to get to know students and build the rapport with them. In the beginning of the lesson students need to be warmed up and motivated. If students are of different English levels, there are many approaches on how to deal with that, however it might be effective to mix them up. In large classes teachers should use worksheets, a lot of pair and group work, choral drills to maximize the number of students participating. If some students refuse to participate or show no initiative, teachers can involve them in pair work and role plays to provide a safe environment for practice. Another tip is avoid usage of students' mother tongue, but make sure to provide clear instructions and the activities are appropriate for the students' English level. Listening tasks usually appear to be difficult for all students, so pre teaching potentially difficult vocabulary can be helpful.
