I found this unit interesting because I have some trouble with keeping students engaged in my Japanese classrooms. They often refer back to using Japanese and I can't figure out how to remedy this, as I can't move them around or switch their seats. I also run into the issue of students who talk a lot with eachother or make rude comments in their L1 thinking I don't understand. However, I found it nice that my frequent use of pair or group work is considered effective. I am also relieved to learn some other ways to check for understanding other than asking "do you understand"
