In this unit I've learned what are some qualities that a good teacher should posses, e.g. be enthusiastic, sensitive, motivated and caring, as well as different important roles that he/she has in the classroom (organizer, model, prompter, assessor, observer etc.), that will prompt the best results in students' learning. Next I've learned what are the qualities of a good learner (desire and willingness to learn, ask questions; experiment with the language; acceptance of error correction), as well as differences between young and adult learners (their experience, motivation, behavior problems and language awareness). There are also different levels of language ability (all together six, varying from elementary level, very basic knowledge, to advanced level, very good knowledge and mastery of a language). Students also have different motifs for studying a language (future career prospects, desire to travel, study or live abroad, communicate with their friends, partners or improve grades at school).
