This unit talks about course books and lesson materials. Unit 14 reads that teachers sometimes like using the course books in class but sometimes they just despite them, and it explains why this happen talking about the advantages and disadvantages of the course books in class. It is a reality that course books can be helpful in a class because they provide exercises the students can do in the class and as homework like in the case of the workbook, but it is also truth that the teacher has to set a specific time for that and combine the use of these with creative and authentic activities in order to engage the kids more and make the lesson more productive. When teachers has the opportunity to choose the books for their class they have to take into account if the price is affordable for the students in his/her lesson, but also if they have enough books in the area the kids leave, and if the content it has is as well suitable according to the level of the kids and what they are learning. The unit also talks about the different materials the professor can create to bring to the class like crosswords, flashcards, role-play cards, among others and how important are these in a class for engaging the kids and make them learn in a fun and creative way.
