Unit 8 gives an overview of the different future tenses, including future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous, and "going to" future. It covers the different structures for forming each tense, and the most common usages for each, as well as activate stage teaching ideas. The present simple and present continuous are normally used in the present, but can also have future applications. I learned that the present continuous may often be confused for "going to" future, especially when the present continuous uses the verb "go." The difference is that the "going to" future structure is always followed by a verb. I learned that the future perfect tense is not used very often, and therefore the activities that can be done to teach it are rather limited. While there are many different forms and uses for the future tenses, the "go to" future and the present continuous are most commonly used.
